Who having into truth, by telling of it,
Made such a sinner of his memory,
To credit his own lie..
The Tempest. Act i. Sc. 2
A quick attempt at connecting a few dots in an intriguing way.
1) Let's assume that the hatch leads to a shelter/control room in which
people have been living for quite some time.
2) Let's assume that multiple planes/ships have crashed on the island
over an extended period of time.
3) Let's assume that the cable leading into the ocean in being used to
power the control environment in the hatch AND what I'm about to describe.
So, what if this leads back to WWII (or sometime around then) when the
military forces of many countries were experimenting with new destructive
technologies? A major piece of WWII was fought in the air, so technologies
that could bring down planes would have been extremely valuable.
Could the testing have been a massive and directed EMP (electromagnetic
pulse)? It clearly would knock out guidance systems and, in modern planes,
could knock out almost all electronics entirely. Hence - the crash.
Think about it this way, the "radio tower" could be used to
pinpoint the target and then WHAM - an EMP could be sent and down goes
the plane.
And, if for some reason the system is malfunctioning, the "hatch
people" could merely be attempting to use their radio to contact
the outside world, and instead have been downing planes and crashing ships.
They might not mean to send the EMP with their signal, but it might be
happening anyway....
HMMMMM
