There ’s nothing ill can dwell in such a temple:
If the ill spirit have so fair a house,
Good things will strive to dwell with ’t.
The Tempest. Act i. Sc. 2
Yes, this theory might be anti-climatic, but it's interesting.
What if the islanders are actually on a secret island that on the other
side is a huge city?
I mean, they haven't been exploring because they are scared of 'the creature.'
The creature, I think, is a mix of a bat/dragon thing.. Anyway.
Maybe the creature is really people from this secret city on the other
side trying to scare off the survivors so no one learns about the secret
society. And they have water-power electricity, explaining the wire Sayid
found.
Anyway... I know it sound weird but, I just thought about that, it's really
supposed to be a joke, but I'm thinking it's going to not be a joke any
more. You never know!
EDIT:
Forgot to add, maybe the hatch Locke and Boone found is an underground
passage to the society?

Fav Characters:

5.Sawyer

Yup. As I said in the chat, the hatch might lead to part of the society.
Ha ha! Chester kicks ASS!!!
Found and Lost
Yup. I wonder what other people think about this.

Even though I've never seen egalliV ehT (put it in reverse, if someone
really couldn't restrain him/herself from reading this) I can say that
your idea sounds very much like it.
Now think about that...
Abraxas
Well, I was honestly not thinking about egalliV ehT when I wrote this.
It was supposed to be an anti-climatic/ joke thing, but then several people
said I should put it up, so I did.
You never know. It could be true. I've been right so far on everything.
No, I do not have any means of contact with JJ Abrams.
Sure, maybe one of the actors, but that's it.

If you had actually watched The Village then you would know this theory
really doesn't relate to The Village at all.

Sadly, most people who watched The Village don't understand what The Village
is actually about.

Thank you, now for my explination:
The Village is basically about a group of people who didn't want anything
to do with money problems so they moved deep into the woods and made their
own village. And the 'creatures' were just the 'elders' not wanting anyone
to wander off and see what 'the towns' were really like. The group of
people didn't want their children to be raise in a town with all the problems
that have to do with money, murders, etc.
That has nothing to do with my theory. Just think about it, you don't
understand my theory that much if you think that's what I'm trying to
say. Not meant to sound rude.
wolfdemondx08
oh - that's what the village was about...

So what was all that talk about love, innocence, and the purpose of a
society?
Sarahs Monkey
That falls under the etc catagory.
wolfdemondx08
So, Claire escaped the Secret Society.
Now she can tell us what's there.
Found and Lost
Or will we? Charlie had a brush with 'em, and he's not saying much about
it. The clearest picture we get from him is "all they wanted was
Claire"
--Which, come to think of it, is interesting, because up until that point
he had been tagging along, trying to help everyone and getting rebuffed
again and again. And here he is, kidnapped, and he still isn't wanted.

Well, it was interesting to note that a futuristic Arctic City was shown
in the comic that Walt had in tonight's episode....
( Along with the Alien in the Hospital, and of course, the Polar Bear.......
)
JJ Abrams said himself that each of the images shown from the comic have
a purpose. .....
LostHorizon
Yes, I was paying attention to that. But the thing with the aliens? The
plot of the show has nothing to do with aliens, I know that.
Maybe it is just showing futuristic things like LostHorizon said.
And last night, we learned that the triangle on all the maps might be
the only power-source. Therefore, power for a city.
