A few shortcomings I've noticed about the islanders and how they're adapting. It seems as though there not making much of an effort to get off the island; they haven't set up any type of fire signals to alert possible aircraft, and they haven't had anyone on a rotating watch for ships on the horizon.
Secondly, there obviously is something in the woods that doesn't want
to play nice, but aside from Locke, no one has armed themselves. Furthermore,
they have not set up a fire watch which most people do under much less
adverse circumstances. Now I do realize this is a TV show, and one geared
towards an American audience, however I think this is going too far.

When Jack told them to burn the main fuselage with all the bodies at dusk,
it was understood that it was an attempt to make the burning as worthwhile
as possible.
So that means there was genuine attempt to get a major signal accross.

I think most of the people on the island , might not want to leave, because
of what they have to go back to. so far it seem like each one had suffer
a lost, or are running away from something.
