You are three men of sin, whom Destiny,
That hath to instrument this lower world
And what is in't, the never-surfeited sea
Hath caused to belch up you; and on this island
Where man doth not inhabit; you 'mongst men
Being most unfit to live. I have made you mad;
And even with such-like valour men hang and drown
Their proper selves.
The Tempest. Act iii. Sc. 3
tonights espisode got me thinking....
most of the back stories have involved, in one way or another, "daddy
issues"... fathers not being there for their kids.
Jack never had a good relationship with his dad.
Sawyer's father killed himself.
Walt never knew his father until the island.
Jin's father ruined her marriage
We know a tiny bit about Kate & her dad -- as an aside, I'm convinced
"the man she loved" was her father -- that she was somehow responsible
for his death, perhaps before or after he left her the toy plane as some
sort of sign that he got there first.
Claire's baby will obviously never know his father.
Even Ethan ... I think we know his father is dead.
Locke mentioned his mother this week
And we know Boone was closer to his mother than father.I have no clue
what it might mean... but the connection is interesting.
